“Life changing, I can not give it any higher praise.” – 2023 graduate
“Ayurveda is the most sacred science of life” – Charak Samhita
Like many Americans, I didn’t grow up understanding my body. When it crashed twenty years ago I was mostly clueless on how to heal, but a little voice of intuition whispered that healing was possible. There have been ups and downs over the last two decades of holistic health studies (many of them chronicled on The Simple Ayurveda Podcast) but I can honestly say that I have made peace with ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis. I teach Ayurveda because I know what it feels like to be physically ill and full of anxiety about life and I also know what it’s like to wake up naturally at 5:30 AM excited for the day. My purpose is to shine the light on your own inner power so that you claim radical self acceptance, authenticity, inner freedom and ease.
How you can work with me:
- The 600-Hour Online Ayurvedic Health Counselor Training Program is a year-long personalized intensive course of study that teaches you the fundamentals in counseling clients and students. I work with a small group and support you every step of the way.
- One-to-one personalized Ayurvedic coaching options open up periodically. I specialize in working with clients who are committed to improving their life through their own choices and living in alignment with nature. Join the waitlist here.
- The Simple Ayurveda Collective is an affordable and ongoing support system that offers Ayurveda broken down into bite-sized pieces so that you are fully able to understand and incorporate this amazing ancient science into your life.

MY STORY
I grew up with a typical American diet, asthma, chronic ear infections, frequent strep throat and an overdose of antibiotics that caused a severe reaction to penicillin when I was 7-years old.
During my junior year of college mono led to a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis and alopecia (bald spots). I was a mess. Steroids caused my face and body to blow up. My top-notch university doctor told me I’d need medicine for the rest of my life, a liver transplant within 10 years and that I wouldn’t be able to have kids.
I put all of my energy into “fixing the problem”. Over the years I’ve tried eating vegan, mostly raw, paleo, gluten free and GAPS. I’ve done it all with vengeance.
Pittas know how to commit when they believe in something.
I also met with an Ayurvedic counselor in 2012, drove hours to attend a five-day digestive health seminar with top nutritionists, met with two different naturopathic doctors, an acupuncturist, and a few more department heads of top hospitals.
Nothing worked to create true health and wellness. That original Ayurvedic counselor? Maybe I wasn’t ready. Maybe we didn’t click. After all, Ayurveda is both an art and a science.
Meanwhile I started practicing yoga while working as a first grade teacher in inner city Philadelphia. Yoga transformed the way I looked at life and handled stress. I started teaching yoga to children and adults in 2010. I’ve studied all types of yoga and have created and facilitated trainings in yin, prenatal and kids yoga, making yoga accessible to many different types of people.
Becoming pregnant in 2012 filled me with joy and fear. Practicing yoga every day empowered me to face my fear of birth, hire a doula and trust myself to believe I was capable.
Motherhood also led to overwhelm and loneliness. I found support in online groups and my love affair with minimalism was born. Getting rid of physical clutter made me feel lighter and happier. Just being able to easily open a kitchen drawer made cooking that much more fun.
Motherhood also rekindled my natural affection for the outdoors. Toddlers definitely cry a little bit less in fresh air.
It’s been nearly 20 years since that grim conversation about my future. Since then I’ve given birth to two healthy, thriving children, traveled the world and started working as a professor of Ayurveda sharing this magic with college students. I felt the call to create an Ayurveda training program based on a new paradigm in education that honors you and your unique life story.

testimonials
I love the yin yoga classes!! I love the monthly topics and the instructional video that goes along with it. It’s a nice way to put some intention to each month. I also like the chat, that’s a key part of the Collective, feeling like a part of a community.
I enjoy exploring all the layers of content from the unit topic and how it evolves into the next unit (Ojas Tejas Prana) (Exploring Ayurveda through the Chakras) (Intuitive Eating). I like that there is a month to dive into a topic and gain a better understanding through recorded videos and personalized learning followed up by a live chat and ongoing discussion.
I like the simplicity of the Collective. There’s a structure and it’s minimal with options to dive deeper if I wish. I love everything about it, but if one thing really impacts me it’s this. In our busy world it’s so refreshing to have a community and space that is simple and calming and not adding to the demands out there.
I joined the collective last month & it is even better than I expected. So much solid info. all in one place, organized well & explained clearly, lovely yin yoga routines, mudras, supportive community. It helps support my Ayurvedic lifestyle & strengthens my understanding.
