Home Remedies and Recipes

Pitta/vata digestive mix
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander 
1 tsp ground fennel
½ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp ajwain (carom)

Instructions: Mix in a glass of warm water. Drink before meals with chronic pitta. Drink after meals when experiencing heartburn, gas, or burping.


Kapha digestive tea
10 basil leaves (Indian basil if possible)
10 mint leaves
1 inch cinnamon stick
½ inch ginger
½ tsp powdered turmeric
1 black peppercorn crushed
*Optional: add honey

Instructions: Boil in 1.5 cups water, covered. Filter and strain. Drink 3-4 times a day to clear congestion


To assist the body in clearing skin issues including: infections, eczema, psoriasis and nut allergies
1 tsp ground turmeric
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp ghee

Instructions: 4 times a day


To assist the body in relief from joint, neck and back pain
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp ginger
1 tsp fenugreek powder
¼ tsp garlic paste
Pinch of asafoetida
¼ tsp ajwain seed
*Add 1 tsp coriander when pitta is high

Instructions: Mix in ½ glass of water. Drink 4 times/day.


To assist the body in reducing anxiety and insomnia
½ cup juice of small white pumpkin
Pinch of nutmeg
¼ tsp of cardamom
*Optional: ½ tsp bhrami or ashwaganda 

Drink 2-3 times per day.


Daily Smoothie for Rebuilding
½ glass beet juice
¼ c. pomegranate seeds
Carrot juice
Leafy greens
1 tsp flax seeds
10 almonds
5 walnuts
1 tsp powdered turmeric
Ginger
Dragonfruit
1 tsp amalaki powder
2 tbsp soaked sesame seeds
*Optional: vegan protein powder
